Nautical sports

Do you like water sports?
Well, in Mazarrón you have the perfect showcase for the practice of any Nautical Sport.

Sailing:

Mazarrón, a natural paradise if ever there was one, with its 35 kilometres of coastline, offers its coast and sea for lovers of this sport. Mazarrón has two ports, the Mazarrón Sailing Club and the Mazarrón Marina. Sailing boats occupy the main pontoons of these ports. Winds from the Levante, Poniente, Lebeche or the jaloque make this sport one of the most attractive that can be practised in Mazarrón. The San José Regatta, organised by the Mazarrón Regatta Club, is one of the most traditional and prestigious events in the region.

Canoeing:

On the beach of Isla de Mazarrón, this sport is common throughout the year. This beach has a natural parapet, the Isla de Paco de Mazarrón, which protects it from the winds and waves. This is why canoeing is usually practised on this beach all year round. In summer you can also rent them in many establishments located next to this beach.

Windsurfing:

The summer Jaloque is the favourite wind for windsurfers in the middle of summer. The Alamillo beach has these qualities as it is located right where this wind “hits” best. Playa Grande is also a very suitable beach for windsurfing due to the westerly wind. In summer you can also find establishments where you can rent windsurfing boards and sails.

Surfing:

Mazarrón also has places for the practice of this sport and due to its beaches, Mazarrón has established itself as one of the best places in the Spanish east coast for the practice of this sport. On beaches such as El Mojón, Bahía and Playa Grande it is common to see young people dressed in wetsuits and surfboards preparing to catch a wave that will allow them to make a good move. In Mazarrón there has already been an open surfing event at regional level which was very well received and had a lot of participation.

Motorboating:

For lovers of motorboats, specifically jet skis, Mazarrón also offers, especially in summer, shops specialising in jet skis, as well as jet ski hire, on beaches such as the Port or El Alamillo. In the bay of Mazarrón there have been numerous sporting events of this modality both regional and national.

Sport fishing:

Mazarrón is a special enclave in the Mediterranean Sea for the practice of sport fishing, currently considered the best beaches in the Region of Murcia for fishing, due to its abundant fauna. Making these beaches the favourite destinations for fishermen from the Region and all of Spain.
