The Bolnuevo Pilgrimage, which is held on 17th November, is the most popular celebration, attracting thousands of people from different parts of the Region and the rest of Spain.
The weekend before the pilgrimage, the fishermen take the Patron Saint from the Bolnuevo Chapel to the Sanctuary of La Purísima. This event is the prelude to the celebration of the great day of the Pilgrimage which takes place on the following Sunday with the transfer of the image from the Sanctuary of La Purísma to the Bolnuevo Chapel.
That weekend many pilgrims take part in these festivities, where the beach of Bolnuevo is the setting for camping, moragas, meetings between friends, neighbours and family. The unity of the municipality of Mazarrón plays its main role in this celebration, where the most important thing is to have a good time.
